Workforce Training

Our workforce training programs help you prepare for a career or get ahead in your job. Adult education centers offer classes that combine academic skills with special training for jobs in fields like childcare, nursing, hospitality and more.

Integrated Education and Training (IET)

IET programs combine academic skills, job preparation skills, and workforce training. Each program provides training in a specific occupation and students may receive a credential needed to work in that field. Programs also focus on improving reading, writing, and math or earning a high school equivalency certificate.

These programs help students start new careers, get promoted with their current employer, or build a foundation for future studies at a college.

Career Pathways are offered in:

  • Hospitality – Carroll County Adult Education
  • Bike Technician – Carroll County Adult Education
  • Licensed Nursing Assistant – Exeter Adult Education and Keene Community Education
  • Microsoft Office Specialist – Above the Notch (Littleton)

Integrated English Literacy and Civics Education (IELCE)

IELCE programs help English language learners improve their English skills while learning job skills, the rights and responsibilities of citizenship, and civic participation. Students may also complete workforce training for a specific occupation and may earn a credential they need to get a job.

Career Pathways are offered for:

  • Licensed Nursing Assistant – International Institute of New England (Manchester) and Keene Community Education
  • Child Care Associate – Nashua Adult Learning Center

Is this for me?

IET and IELCE programs are for students who want to take classes to help get a job or move ahead in their careers. If you do not have a high school diploma/equivalency or are learning English, these programs are a great way to learn job skills while improving your reading, writing, and math, or becoming more comfortable with English.
