Are you highly collaborative, organized, and do you enjoy working in an educational setting? The Adult Learning Center is seeking a Tutoring Services Coordinator to join our Adult Education team. This position is responsible for overseeing and managing the daily operations of our robust tutoring program to provide additional supports to adults with specific academic needs.
The Tutoring Services Coordinator matches and supervises all tutor-students pairs. The Coordinator is responsible for monitoring student progress and providing ongoing support and training to volunteer tutors.
This is a benefited, part-time 20-hour per week position with some evening hours required.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment
- Recruit volunteer tutors and assist with intake and assessment of prospective students while supporting and encouraging their educational goals
- Match tutors and students and assist pairs with scheduling, location, and logistics of meeting
Educational Support
- Develop an individual learning plan for each student based on their assessments and goals
- Provide ongoing support to volunteers and monitor student progress with assessments and tutor reports
- Substitute for ALC classes if needed
Other Responsibilities
- Work cooperatively within the Center and with community partners to generate student and tutor referrals (some evening hours required)
- Attend staff development meetings and conferences offered by the Bureau of Adult Education and maintain necessary program certifications (i.e. assessment certifications)
- Participate in local, regional, and state organizations that benefit the tutor and student populations
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field preferred
- Prior experience working with adult students
- Understanding of community resources in the greater Nashua area
